The Basics of Nutrition
In this section you’ll find out the basics of Energy, Macronutrients and Micronutrients, essential for a healthy body and mind.
Each section will have information on the following; Function, Variety and Source.
Macronutrients include Carbohydrates, Fats and Protein and these are needed daily by the body and in large amounts to maintain health. They provide us with the energy.
Micronutrients include vitamins and minerals and these are only needed in small amounts but have important roles in keeping our body and mind healthy.
Others that don’t fall into the nutrient category are water and fibre, which are still very important for health.
