Events

Each year, the Leeds Gryphons take on local rivals Leeds Beckett in the Leeds Varsity series. The competition culminates in October with the rugby union finale at Headingley Stadium.

Steeped in history, the Christie Championships, established in 1886, is an annual sports event held between the Universities of Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester.

Our Leeds Gryphons teams take on a wide range of Universities across the country each Wednesday as part of the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) Leagues.

The annual Alumni Sports Day see’s the return of our sporting alumni to Leeds to take on the current students in a day of friendly sporting competition. With over 20 clubs involved, it’s a great chance to relive the university experience.

Gryphon Leadership Award at Sports Colours 2017

The Sports Colours Awards sees our Leeds Gryphons ditch their tracksuits for the evening to celebrate the outstanding efforts of athletes, teams, volunteers and coaches from our Sports, Martial Arts, Outdoor and Competing Dance Groups.
