Are you seeking to enhance your CV? Are you undertaking projects or activities to improve your employability? Are you currently undertaking a volunteer role? Would you like this to be recognised formally?
The LEEDS Award is a 20 credit module that recognises the contribution that you make to the University and wider society; through a variety of activities it supports and enhances that experience.
If you are a committee member of a society or club, teaching English to asylum seekers, involved in ACTION projects or running your own business – any of these types of activity can form the basis of your module ‘placement’. Supporting your focus activity, you undertake an agreed training package, deliver your activity and use this as a focus for identifying, developing and reflecting upon the employability skills that you gain from this experience.
Designated a Special Skills module, and so available to students across all degree programmes, this module is normally taken by level 2 and 3 students.
If you are a returning student you should enrol for this module online and will need to make contact with the Module Manager to ensure that the activity you wish to use as the focus for the module is appropriate.
