On 30 January sports scholar Abbie Sisman competed in the 2022 Karate WTKA Euros, her first competition since the COVID-19 lockdown. It proved to be a successful day for Abbie as she won three gold medals, making her the European champion!
She took the gold in the following categories:
- Musical/extreme weapons, Gold, 17-34yrs.
- Traditional forms, Gold, 17-34yrs.
- Creative weapons, Gold, 17-34yrs.
Originally from Sheffield, Abbie started practicing martial arts at the age of three. At 13 years old Abbie decided to seriously commit herself to Karate and it’s clear that her hard work has paid off. As well as training with a club at home Abbie is a member at The University of Leeds Karate society and frequently trains at The Edge as a sports scholar.
