Please note that on days with reduced opening hours, all Edge Club and Edge Club Extra members will be able to use all the facilities at any time of day.

There will also be no women’s only swim and gym sessions on the above dates.

The Exercise Class timetable will be reduced over the Christmas period and can be found here.

Parking will be available at any time for customers on days with reduced opening hours (December 24th – January 2nd). Members who have registered their car can benefit from unlimited parking during these days, and all other members or pay as you go customers can use a 3 hour free parking code at any time during these days.

From time-to-time we have to make changes to the swimming pool timetable. All swimming pool updates will appear here so check back often.

  • Wednesday 13th December 11:00 – 12:00 – Two lanes will be used for a private booking

Peak Times

Peak times occur between the hours of 12:00 – 14:00 and 16:00 – 19:00 on weekdays.

 

School Hire

Please note that for some School Hire sessions that will be taking place during the week, the depth of the pool will be altered, with the pool floor raised to 0.9m. The separate male and female changing areas within the Village Changing Area will also be closed.

 

 

Class Updates

Classes

To check our class timetable, please click here. Members can book onto classes up to 2 days in advance, from 6:00am using the online site, and bookings over the phone on 0113 343 5095 or in person at The Edge can be made from 6:30am.

 

If you cannot attend a pre-booked class, please remember to cancel your place so that another customer can take advantage of this.

 

Changes to class timetable

  • The 13:00 HIIT class at Cromer Terrace on Monday 6th November will now start at 13:15 
  • The 15:00 Clubbercise class has now been replaced with Bum, Legs & Tums on Monday 6th November.

 

 

 

 

Facility Updates & Campus Car Parking

On Sunday 5th November 2017 the Abbey Dash will be held around Leeds City Centre. This means the campus will be busier than normal and parking may be limited. Please leave ample time to get to The Edge if you are attending swimming lessons. For more information about this please follow the link – Abbey Dash Information.

 

The outdoor court will be closed between 4th December 2017 – 19th January 2018 for essential maintenance work.

 

There will be planned maintenance work outside Cromer Terrace lasting for 7 weeks from 23rd October 2017.

 

From Monday 28th November, it will no longer be possible to park under the Cherry Trees in the Orange Zone, however plenty of alternative parking will still be available within the multi-storey car park and in The Edge car park.

Furthermore, from Monday 12th December, traffic will be diverted around the campus, controlled by temporary traffic lights.

This change to parking is due to the construction of Nexus – the University’s £40m innovation and enterprise centre.

Facility Changing Room Closures – Thursday 19th October

Due to essential maintenance works on our water supply we will be closing changing rooms 1 to 6 from 17:30 today, we apologies for the inconvenience this causes.  The Swimming Pool Village change will remain available for showering and toilets.

Do you walk into the weights room filled with confusion? Or worst are you intimidated by all that equipment? Does the sound of weight training echo through your brain at night?

Do not worry, The Edge is here to banish those fears from your mind.

From Monday 30th October, our Women Only Strength Training courses are back by popular demand.

Why strength train?

Strength training is a great way to get fit, lean and lose weight. Research has shown many benefits of adding weights into your workouts:

  • lower body fat
  • reduces your risk of heart disease and diabetes
  • battle depression
  • increase your energy levels

Our Women Only Strength Training courses are the perfect opportunity for beginners or intermediates to learn techniques to improve their workouts and reach their fitness goals, but don’t just take our word for it…

What does it involve?

The course will run for 6 weeks, one session per week, and will be taught by our expert Personal Trainer team. The sessions will cover the main lifts of resistance training, as well as the concepts and common training methods. We will also provide useful tips on nutrition.

You can choose to attend the course before your work day or in the evening.

The first session starts on Monday 30th October and run throughout the week. The courses only cost £65!

Let’s be honest; all of us want to be stronger, healthier and look how we feel! Our Women Only Strength Courses can give you the techniques that will help make this a reality.

The courses are a great chance to learn new techniques in a friendly environment, and let your body reap the rewards!

1. Edge HIIT

Incorporating strength, cardio and interval training, this Gym-Floor class will work you to the max in just 30 minutes! Designed to fit naturally around your day, our new sessions mean you can go from work to gym and back again with ease.

2. Clubbercise ®

Want to bring a night out to your workout?  Clubbercise® is a fun dance workout to club anthems from 90′s classics, using glowsticks to add to the atmosphere. Clubbercise fitness classes are great for beginners and fitness fans alike.

3. Barre Pilates

The Barre Pilates Method mixes Pilates, ballet & body conditioning for a whole body workout. This is a low impact class but that doesn’t mean you won’t sweat! This class aims to tone and define those muscles.

4. New virtual classes

With our brand new state of the art virtual offerings, we are adding virtual classes such as Insanity, P90X and Spin, available on-demand. Online Booking System Upgrade

Please be aware that we are upgrading our online booking system on Thursday 31st August at 09:00This necessary work should last between 1 and 2 hours.

If you would like to book on to a class or book a court during this time, please call the Reception Team on 0113 343 5095 and they will be able to assist with your booking.

 

We hope this doesn’t cause too much disruption as we implement these essential software upgrades.
