At The Edge we offer a fantastic range of quality children’s swimming lessons throughout the year.
Our children’s swimming lessons follow the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework. The programme is delivered by Swim England Level 2 qualified swimming teachers, and covers the basics fundamentals, through to gaining complete confidence in the water.
What do we offer?
- Lessons are 30 minutes in duration
- Lessons must be purchased via card in consecutive blocks of 12 at a cost of £81
- Maximum 10 adults with children for Swim-a-song session
- Maximum 6 children in our Ducklings class
- Maximum 8 children per class in our stage 1 and above courses
- Lessons take place on Saturday and Sunday morning throughout the year and above
Swim-a-Song
Our Swim-a-Song programme is designed for children between four and 36 months old. These lessons are perfect for adult and child bonding, as well as building water confidence and basic water skills.
Duckling
Our new Duckling lessons are designed for children aged three to four. The lessons help to develop swimming skills and build independence in the water without parents / guardians in the water.
Lessons follow the Swim England Learn To Swim Framework and run from Level 1 to Level 10.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do swimmers gain access to The Edge facilities?
Swimmers gain access by using their personally allocated swipe card. This must be brought every lesson in order to gain access to the facility.
Are refunds given if a swimmer is ill and cannot attend?
Lessons can be re-credited if proof of illness is produced e.g. Doctors Note. Lessons missed due to illness such as common cold, cannot be.
How quickly will swimmers progress?
All swimmers progress at different speeds. If swimmers have access to swimming outside of lessons, we find progression occurs at an accelerated rate.
The most important factor is that each child learns to swim and enjoys learning to swim.
Can spectators sit on pool side?
Spectators are permitted to sit in the reception area of The Edge facility, unless an arrangement has been made prior to the lesson with Aquatic lead teacher.
