Get Involved
The University of Leeds is one of the main hub sites for the Leeds city wide community project, Tri Something New. There are lots of opportunities to get involved in, from taking part in one of our free run, swim or bike sessions, having a go at your first GO TRI event and attending a rousing talk from some world famous athletes.
Whether you’re thinking of taking on your first triathlon, want to become more active or volunteer at an event then we have lots of opportunities for you across the city centre and Headingley.
GO TRI is the fun way to get started in triathlon. If you have been thinking about giving triathlon a go, this is your chance.
Get Out, Get Active: The University of Leeds Get Out, Get Active programme provides lots of fun and friendly cycling sessions each week. There is a chance to practice on stable bikes indoors and join them on longer outdoor rides discovering the beautiful countryside across Leeds.
The Edge: There are lots of opportunities to swim right in the city centre at The Edge, with 12 week swimming lessons available as well as casual swimming sessions, including women’s only there is something for everyone.
A great way to find your next (or first!) triathlon is looking on the Triathlon England website. You can search by location and see which events are happening near you as well as more information on each one.
There are lots of brilliant opportunities to volunteer in the lead up to the Columbia Threadneedle World Triathlon Leeds and this is a great way to meet new people and develop a range of skills.
