Students
Move More, Feel Good
Move More, Feel Good aims to introduce and establish positive physical activity and wellbeing behaviour for first year undergraduate students studying at Leeds. Whilst we are particularly keen to engage first year students, students from other years are welcome to join the activities.
Move More, Feel Good consists of a range of helpful interactive workshops giving you simple tips and techniques you can implement into your daily life, and a range of physical activity sessions linked to each of the workshop topics.
Workshop topics:
- Move – the importance of physical activity for our health and wellbeing and how you can easily incorporate it into your every day routine
- Food – an overview of how the foods we eat can affect our wellbeing. Learn how to eat the right types of foods for a healthier lifestyle on a student budget!
- Mood – learn the importance of looking after your mental health and wellbeing, and recognising the impact and solutions to stress
- Snooze – learn about how sleep can affect our daily lives and actions we can take to improve our sleep
Physical activity sessions:
Showcasing just how varied physical activity can be, there are a range of sessions you can get involved in. For example: Zumba, body combat, Pilates, step, strength and Body Jam. These sessions are aimed at beginners and are focused on moving your body and having fun.
All sessions take place at The Edge. Read more and book onto the workshops and activity sessions.
Staff
Active Campus
Our Active Campus programme for university staff and postgraduate researchers is a great way to move your body, have fun and meet new people from across the university. You don’t need to have an Edge membership in order to participate.
There are several activities running each week, including netball, badminton and yoga. All abilities are welcome.
All sessions take place at The Edge or the Gryphon Sports Centre on Woodsley Road.

Online Posture Sessions
Are you struggling with your posture? Do you regularly experience aches and pains?
Try our 15-minute upper body postural session, offering gentle exercises for your neck and shoulders, including mobility, stretches and activation. The class runs every Monday at 12 noon.
Why not give the 15-minute lower body postural session a go, too? They target stiffness in your legs linked with a sedentary job/lifestyle. The class runs every Tuesday at 12 noon.
If you’re specifically suffering with lower back pain, try our 15-minute lower back postural session which runs every Wednesday at 12 noon.
If you’d like to improve your full body posture, try our 15-minute full body postural session which runs every Thursday at 12 noon.
Join us on the last Friday of every month at 12 noon for a 30 minute mat based session that targets different areas of the body. The content, voted for by our staff participants, varies each month, but you can expect things like Pilates based movements, core exercises and full body stretches.
All the above sessions are held via MS Teams.
