Each year Sport and Physical Activity conduct a survey to learn more about the activity and wellbeing levels of staff and students at the University of Leeds to help shape our approach.

Balancing Life Results 2024
This year’s Balancing Life results have shown a decrease in physical activity levels for both our staff and student population. Our university community have reported lack of time as their biggest barrier to exercise, indicating a priority for our service is to understand how we can help develop a community culture where individuals feel permitted to build in time during the work/study day to be physically active.

Balancing Life Results 2023
The 2023 Balancing Life results found a drop in student activity levels and an increase in staff activity levels. This year we added a new question which analysed the factors our community consider most important in helping them to be physically active.

Balancing Life Results 2022
As we have tentatively emerged from the pandemic, we wanted to find out how this has impacted our university community’s physical activity and wellbeing levels. We were particularly interested in seeing what barriers our staff and students have experienced in relation to physical activity.
