Leeds is leading the way for world class triathlon training and development and is fast becoming the primary centre for triathlon in the UK.

The University of Leeds is integral to triathlon in Leeds, not only can the University boast Olympic Champions Alistair and Johnny Brownlee as alums, plus a host of current student athletes with world-class ambitions, but the University will be home to the newly established £4.5M elite triathlon training centre. Supported by some of the best coaches in the world, the new centre will develop talented athletes with Olympic potential from across the UK.

The University also employs a full time Triathlon Development Officer, who works closely with British Triathlon to ensure that there are exciting opportunities for all students, staff and the local community to make triathlon as open and accessible as possible for anyone who wishes to get involved.

Excitingly, this year, the city will welcome the world’s top triathletes to the ITU World Triathlon event on 12th June 2016 further endorsing the impact that Leeds is having on world triathlon.
