Booked an Edge exercise class? Wonderful! You’re already on the right track to meeting new people, staying active and meeting your fitness goals. Whether it’s your very first class, or you can’t remember the last time you attended (we forgive you, I promise), here’s a list of a few quick tips to help you feel confident before you arrive.

1. Eat beforehand

Energise with a light snack about an hour before your class. Something small and simple, such as dried fruit, a protein bar, or yoghurt, can go a long way in sustaining your energy during the session.

2. Wear appropriate clothing

Choose breathable and comfortable workout clothes which will allow you to move freely. With Edge exercise classes like Body Pump and Zumba, activewear made from materials such as nylon will help you stay comfortable throughout the session.

3. Bring water

Staying hydrated is hugely important during exercise. Whether you have booked onto a low or high intensity workout class, it’s essential you take short water breaks throughout. If you have forgotten to bring water, don’t worry! We have water stations inside our class studios and throughout the building.

4. Arrive early

Aim to arrive five – ten minutes early to your class. This way you should have enough time to change into your gym clothes, find your class studio, get any equipment you may need before your session starts and settle in before the class begins.

5. Let the instructor know if it’s your first class

Don’t be shy, we all started somewhere! Let the instructor know it’s your first session, especially if you’re feeling nervous. They will offer support and show you alternative movements if you’re finding any exercises difficult.

See you in class!

You’re all set! With these quick tips you should be able to go into your class feeling more comfortable and confident. As always, if you do have any questions, please don’t hesitate to visit our contact us page.
