Open to anyone living in Halls of Residence at the University, the Gryphon Halls Cup is a competitive sporting programme within residences, pitting Halls against each other in a fun rivalry to see who is the best! The programme will combine performance, participation and engagement to award points to halls across several events throughout the year.
Focusing on less conventional sports often not played before University, we will go through the rules and offer some skills before jumping straight into the action. As well as this, we want to recognise and reward you for extra physical activity you run in your Halls, so we will hopefully see a drive for students to engage in sports and physical activity, and the return of rivalry and competition between residences.
|October 3rd 4-7pm||Dodgeball|
|November 7th 4-7pm||Volleyball|
|December 5th 4-7pm||Ultimate Frisbee|
|February 6th 4-7pm||Mens and Womens Football|
|March 6th 4-7pm||Badminton|
|May 1st 4-7pm||Summer sports day|
There are three methods of scoring points, the performance at the official events, the participation at official events, and engagement and enthusiasm in other activity within sport/physical activity.
At the end of the year, the Hall with the most points will be crowned the champion!
