These classes are specifically targeted at those looking to improve their wellbeing. All of these classes are free to attend for students and are held at the LUU in the Jade Studio – a student friendly, non-intimidating environment. Places are limited so students will need to book in advance. The booking links can be found below along with our class information:
Wellbeing HIIT & Core – Monday 2.30-3.30pm
This High Intensity Interval Training class will work your core, burn calories and get your blood pumping, using full body exercises!
Wellbeing Pilates – Tuesday 2.30-3.30pm
Charlotte will take you through mind-body exercises to focus on increasing strength, flexibility, posture and balance.
Wellbeing Yoga – Wednesday 12-1pm
A slower paced class aimed at stretching and strengthening the body, with a focus on alignment. We’ll take the time to look at how the body should be aligned in poses and offer options to modify depending on your needs. Guidance on breath control (pranayama) and relaxation will help to bring a sense of calm and well-being to the body and mind. Suitable for all levels including those completely new to yoga.
Wellbeing Circuits – Wednesday 1.30-2.30pm
Lucy will take you through a whole body workout using a circuit based approach. This session will involve a mixture of exercises using weights and body weight exercises to include strengthening and cardiovascular fitness.
All About Glutes – Thursday 1.30-2.30pm
Strong and efficient glutes are important for maintaining good posture, reducing back, hip and lower body pain and a huge base muscle group for many exercises, so the stronger the better! Lucy will take you through a series of exercises including glute activation, that will wake up your glutes and ensure they are firing correctly. You could use these before your own workouts and glute strength sessions, with a focus on activation, flexibility and building muscle.
Wellbeing Kung Fu – Friday 4-5pm
Join Andy, who will lead this session teaching Shaolin Kung Fu. Andy teaches a combination of modern and traditional techniques and forms, internal Qi gong exercises to improve your health, fitness and wellbeing.
