Why have we chosen Emma as a role model?
Not only is Emma a successful actress, but she is also a champion of women’s rights. In a speech at the United Nations in 2014, Emma called on men to advocate for gender equality and empowerment of women as she launched the UN’s HeForShe initiative alongside UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. As a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, her first international visit was to Uruguay, where she gave a speech regarding the need for increased women’s political participation.
