BUCS CROSS COUNTRY

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

The University of Leeds Cross Country club has been successful in winning the bid to host the BUCS Cross Country Championships for the 23/24 season. To support this amazing event we will be looking for volunteers to help make the day a success. The event will be held at Temple Newsam, Leeds, LS15 0AE on Saturday 3rd February 2024.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

There will be more information updated here and sent to anyone that signs up to volunteer. The main roles will include, event support and marshalling.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

No experience is required for this role. We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable volunteers.

SKILLS DEVELOPED

Experience in supporting a large scale mass-participation event, communication and teamwork.

TRAINING & SUPPORT

All volunteers will be given a brief upon arrival and given instructions related to their role. You will have the support of Leeds Sport Staff at the event.

Leeds Sport is invested in retaining volunteers and ensuring their volunteering is a supportive, high-quality experience working to the common aims of growing community sports participation and developing student skills.

Students that are volunteering to complete course required hours can have this event signed off by the Leeds Sport Volunteer Officer.

COMMITMENT

This is a one-off event so there is no ongoing commitment! A great way to volunteer if you are short on time. You just need to be available on Saturday 3rd February 2024 (times tbc).

Applications are OPEN now and will CLOSE on Monday 29th January 2024. Once you have submitted your application you will be contacted by the Sport Volunteering Officer to confirm.
