After two years away, we’ll be opening the doors again to over 10,000 students, cheering on teams from Leeds Beckett University and the University of Leeds, in over 60 fixtures, across 25 sports, involving over 1,400 competitors, during a week of high energy. Culminating with the Rugby Union finale at Headingly stadium on 4 May, save the dates in your diary now and get ready to wear, show and support your colours.
Not heard of Varsity before? Here’s a bit of history: Leeds Varsity is the annual inter-university sports event between the University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University. We joined together for the first time in 2004, quickly becoming the ‘must attend’ event in the Leeds student calendar. We bring everyone together in friendship and convivial rivalry, harnessing their pride and passion for sport, and their love of Leeds. Whether you’re a competitor or a supporter you can wear, show and support your colours, championing all the great things about being a student in Leeds. Covid prevented Varsity taking place in 2020 and 2021, so there’s nearly 3 years of unused, untapped, unreleased support, enthusiasm and raw energy to drive us into the championships this year.
