Sport Science FC Win Social League Finals!

Sport Science FC have been crowned the champions of 11 a-side Social League Football after a convincing win in the semester one final. Sport Science FC fought hard against their opposition Maths, managing to keep their lead and come away with a 5-1 win.

This was the first time Sport Science FC have been in the Social Leagues finals, captain Alex Stewart was ecstatic with his teams success;

“Everyone is delighted. We came really close last year so it’s very satisfying to go one better and fulfil others’ high expectations – which arise from us being a ‘sporty’ course. Beating teams with far greater resources is always pleasing, and we aim to further improve on the high standards we have set in this coming semester.”

The game took place at Sports Park Weetwood on the 3G, referee James Atkinson watched over proceedings with the help of linesmen Andy Jepson and Nathan Churchill.

At the end of semseter two Sport Science FC will play-off against the semester two winners to decide who will have the honour of representing the University of Leeds in the annual Intra Mural Varsity against Leeds Beckett University in May.
