Located three miles north of the main University campus, Sports Park Weetwood provides excellent facilities for outdoor sport at the University of Leeds and is used by students alongside members of the local community.

Over the past 10 years £25m has been invested into new sports facilities at the University of Leeds and Sports Park Weetwood plays host to the University of Leeds Gryphons Sports Teams as well as Social Leagues. Every week hundreds of students train, receive coaching and play matches on these excellent facilities.

The facility also hosts the Leeds/Bradford MCCU cricket team, as well as being the venue for Yorkshire Cricket Club Academy, Junior and 2nd XI sides. It is also proud to be recognised as a Junior Regional Performance Centre for hockey.

Facilities at Sports Park Weetwood include:

County standard cricket pitch
FIFA quality and World 22, 3G Rubber Crumb Pitch
2 x LANO International Standard Water Based hockey pitch
NEW 3G Training Area with 3 x 6 a side pitches
World class rugby pitch. Used regularly by international and professional teams.
2 x High class football pitches. Used regularly for professional football team training.
The View Bar
Accommodation for groups is available on site at the 4*, University owned Weetwood Hall

Please note, we cannot accommodate dogs on site due to health and safety regulations.

Our partnerships

A number of sporting partnerships with prestigious governing bodies, professional and community clubs are based at Sports Park Weetwood.

We’re proud to work with the Rugby Football Union, Yorkshire County Cricket Club, England Hockey, Leeds Hockey Club and UOL Staff Cricket.

Availability

Sports Park Weetwood is available to students and external users throughout the year for various activities. The facilities are also available to hire as a venue for training camps, corporate tournaments and away days.
