The University of Leeds Cricket Club maintains four men’s teams taking part in the BUCS Summer Competitions, BUCS Indoor National Knockouts and the Yorkshire Indoor League at Headingley Stadium.
 

The club also supports its first team in the Premier B League and feeds the Leeds/Bradford UCCE.

The University of Leeds’ full time Director of Cricket, Andrew Lawson, has been coaching the club for two years. His work has resulted in some impressive performances. The South African cricketer was also appointed as Head Coach for the MCCU in 2009.

Since retiring as a player Richard Horner, Head Coach for the University of Leeds Cricket Club, has dedicated his life to coaching and assisting young cricketers to reach their potential.
 

Richard received the runner-up award for Outstanding Coaching Achievement in the Sky Sports ECBCA National Coaching Awards 2010. He has previously been named Yorkshire Cricket Board’s (YCB) winner in the category recognising coaches who have made ‘a significant difference in shaping the lives of cricketers’.  He continues his hard work with the club and promises great things from his players.

The club trains at the University of Leeds’ Weetwood Playing Fields, home to the Yorkshire Cricket Academy. The facility boats cricket pitches of test match quality and additional artificial surface cricket nets. The facility is managed by full time grounds staff.
