The University of Leeds is nationally renowned for its excellence cycling provision. The club has dominated the British Universities and College Sport (BUCS) cycling programme for the past number of years, in both team and individual events.
About the club
Our cycling club has strength in all cycling disciplines, including hill climbing, mountain biking, time trials and road racing.
The club take part in a number of events throughout the year, including the annual BUCS Hill Climb in Durham, the BUCS 23 Mile TT and the BUCS Track Cycling Championships, held at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester.
Our proximity to the Yorkshire Dales provides the perfect training venue for ambitious cyclists.
The club is supported by a network of professionals, including a team of strength and conditioning coaches, physiotherapists and a masseur, who each work closely with the squads to maximise performance.
On top of this, the club is coached by a team of highly qualified and knowledgeable coaches.
Our cycling club combines indoor and outdoor training. The club has a dedicated indoor site for turbo-training during the winter and is able to take advantage of the natural surroundings of North West Leeds and the Yorkshire Dales.
The club also take part in strength and conditioning training in the strength and conditioning room at The Edge.
Local Performance Clubs
The Cycling Club is affiliated to British Cycling and competes as Leeds Gryphon Performance Sport in regional and national cycling competitions.

We have previously supported a number of elite cat riders, including Calum Chamberlain, Hugo Humphreys and Jack Kirk.
We are proud to currently support Edward McParland, who is currently the British number three in youth cross country mountain biking, and a member of British Cycling's Olympic talent team.
